9th -10th November 2011 International Event „Maitri“ on the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of the international recognition of the restored independence of Lithuania was held in Jaipur
During the event International Seminar „Conservation of Energy“ was organised. Dr. Darius Biekša (Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Lithuania) presented his paper on „Today‘s Challenges of Energy Conservation“.
In the cultural part of the Event Lithuania was represented by the Lithuanian folk dance ensemble „Žilvitis“ of Vytautas Magnus University (Lithuania). The ensemble is currently travelling in India and participating in the EU Cultural Festival „EU SANSKRITI FESTIVAL 2011“. November 12th -14th they have concerts in Delhi and Kanpur.
Event was organised by the Embassy of Lithuania in India in collaboration with S.K. Chaudhary Educational trust‘s „Shankara group of Institutions“ (Jaipur). The function was attended by the Ambassador of Lithuania in India Petras Šimeliūnas.
