FIRST LITHUANIAN BUSINESS REPRESENTATION OPENED IN INDIA

On May 23 the representative office of the Indian – Baltic Chamber of Commerce (IBCC) in India was inaugurated in Gurgaon.

„This is the first Lithuanian business representation in India“ – said the Ambassador of Lithuania Mr. Laimonas Talat-Kelpša at the opening. – „We hope that this will soon bring concrete results and will open doors for Lithuanian products to the Indian market“.

The Director of the Indian – Baltic Chamber of Commerce Gediminas Citukas presented first projects of his representative offce, among them – presentations of Lithuanian chocolades to the Indian importers and wholsalers, the first of which was already organized at Chennai Bakery Expo on May 18-21.

Indian – Baltic Chamber of Commerce was established in 2009 in order to assist Lithuanian and Indian businessmen in establishing business ties. Together with the Embassy of Lithuania in Delhi IBCC has arranged 4 Lithuanian business missions to India. In December 2012 IBCC signed an agreement with the Indian company „India Buying Consultants“ regarding the establishment of the IBCC representative office in India. As per terms of this agreement „India Buying Consultants“ has become official representative of the IBCC and will be responsible for finding clients for the IBCC in India.
