LITHUANIA PARTICIPATED IN THE INDIA – CENTRAL EUROPE BUSINESS FORUM
On March 27-28 Lithuania took part in the India - Central European Business Forum organized in New Delhi by the Federation of the Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) along with the Ministry of External Relations of India.
Ambassador at Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Vytautas Naudužas was Lithuania’s speaker at the regional session dedicated to Baltic and Nordic countries. In his address he presented the advantages and opportunities of the Lithuanian economy to Indian businesses, especially in the sectors of transport and logistics, as well as solar energy technology. He called for a closer partnership between the Indian and Lithuanian transport and logistics sectors as a way of saving costs and making businesses more effective on both sides. While enumerating various advantages of setting up businesses in Lithuania, Ambassador Naudužas also urged India to set up its Embassy in Lithuania.
In a session dedicated to Indian investment in Central Europe, Mr. O.P.Mishra, Director of the “Indorama Ventures Poland” plant also praised the excellent investment climate and high return rate in Lithuania where he headed another plant of “Indorama” for 4 years. It was in Lithuania that “Indorama” started its expansion in Europe, building the 100 mln EUR plant that paid back in 3 years.
The representatives of the governments and business communities of 29 European countries took part in the business forum which offered a great opportunity of networking and showcasing the new possibilities of doing business. Indian businessmen were invited to be more active in the Central and Northern European region that offers unique opportunities, new markets and high return coupled with secure and clean environment.
