LITHUANIAN FILM „BACK TO YOUR ARMS“ IN DELHI
At the initiative of the Embassy of Lithuania in Delhi „Back To Your Arms“, a Lithuanian film by Kristijonas Vildžiūnas, was screened in Delhi on May 19.
Before the Sunday screening H.E. Mr. Laimonas Talat-Kelpša, Ambassador of Lithuania in India, greeted the audience and gave a brief account ofLithuanian cinema, its main films and personalities and today‘s realities.
„Foreign studios and directors have long ago discovered Lithuania as an attractive destination for making films. I believe the time that Bollywood films are shot in Lithuania is also coming.
„Back To Tour Arms“ is the Lithuanian entry at the European Film Festival that is currently taking place in India. It is for the second time that Lithuanian film is taking part in this traditional festival. Last year India became the first foreign country where the Lithuanian hit film by Donatas Ulvydas „Tadas Blinda. The Legend is Born“ was shown.
This year „Back To Your Arms“ will be screened in 11 cities of India. At the initiative of European Delegation in India and the European Embassies in Delhi 24 films are being screened at the festival.
„Back To Your Arms“ is the story of daughter and her father separated by the 2nd World War and trying to meet in Berlin divided by the Cold War. The film is based on a real story of the famous theatre director and actor Romualdas Juknevičius and his daughter Dalia Juknevičiūtė.
