LITHUANIAN FILM ON ITS JOURNEY ACROSS INDIA
“Back to your Arms”, the Lithuanian film by Kristijonas Vildziunas, is being screened in Indian cities as part of the programme of the 18th European Union Film Festival in India. This traditional festival has a different theme each year and the theme of this 18th festival is “Celebrating Women”.
The Lithuanian film tells a story of a young Lithuanian girl trying to meet her father in Berlin already divided by the Iron Wall in 1961, shortly before the construction of the real Berlin Wall.
It is a second time already that Lithuanian film has been included into the programme of this festival at the initiative of the Embassy of Lithuania in New Delhi: In 2012 the film by Donatas Ulvydas “Tadas Blinda. Pradžia“ was shown at the festival.
The European Union Film Festival is taking place in 11 cities across India: Coimbatore, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Goa, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Jodhpur.
