Ambassador Diana Mickevičienė presented credentials to the Right Honourable President of Nepal

On the 13th of May, H. E. Ms. Diana Mickevičienė, Ambassador of Lithuania to Nepal presented her credentials to The Right Honourable President of Nepal Mr. Ramchandra Paudel.

President Paudel congratulated Ambassador D. Mickevičienė on her new post and wished her a successful tour of duty as Lithuanian Ambassador to Nepal. Both expressed their mutual desire to improve and expand bilateral relations and cooperation, particularly in the fields of economics, education, and cultural ties.

Ambassador Mickevičienė expressed sincere appreciation to President Paudel for accepting the Letter of Credence appointing her as the new Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Nepal: “I am honored to serve Lithuania in Nepal and will strive to further strengthen and broaden our partnership. Lithuania and Nepal share the same values of respect for the rule of law, democracy, and sovereignty. We appreciate Nepal’s stance on the importance of upholding international rules-based order. Lithuania and Nepal have deep cultural relations. Linguistic roots and proximity of Sanskrit and Lithuanian languages bind us closer. Especially high tech cooperation and expertise that Lithuania can offer would expand new avenues for bilateral partnership”.

H. E. Ms. Diana Mickevičienė, Ambassador of Lithuania to Nepal called on Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister of Nepal Mr. Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Foreign Secretary of Nepal Ms. Sewa Lamsal. Discussions were focused on increasing bilateral diplomatic and political collaborations as well as promoting linguistic ties of Sanskrit.

Moreover, Ambassador Diana Mickevičienė paid a visit to the Ministry of Communication & Information Technology of Nepal to meet Mr. Ramkrishna Subedi, Secretary, to discuss Lithuanian opportunities in promotion of cyber security in Nepal, also other high-tech fields.

Furthermore, the Ambassador met with Dr. Govinda Prasad Sharma, Secretary, Ministry of Forests and Environment of Nepal. Both sides had a talk about cooperation in green, waste and water management projects in Nepal.
