Ambassador of Lithuania presented his Letters of Credence to the President of Nepal

On 16 March, Ambassador of Lithuania Laimonas Talat-Kelpša presented his Letters of Credence to the President of Nepal Dr. Ram Baran Yadav.

 "This year we are celebrating the decade of Lithuania - Nepal diplomatic relations, and it's a great opportunity to think about the active collaboration. As the first Lithuanian Ambassador to Nepal I intend to make every effort to expand our country's economic, political and cultural relations ", - said the Ambassador of Lithuania.

 Nepalese leader has also expressed the wish to strengthen cooperation in trade, education and culture, he identified Lithuania’s role in providing support for reforms in Nepal. 

Lithuania and Nepal established diplomatic relations in 2005 (in 2061 according to Nepali Calendar).

In 2014, the bilateral trade between Nepal and Lithuania amounted to EUR 82 thousand.

Nepal was Lithuania’s 163rd largest trade partner in 2014.

L.Talat - Kelpša is the first Lithuanian ambassador to present his Letters of Credence to the President of Nepal.
