TOI: Lithuanian envoy wants strong ties with India

AHMEDABAD: A few weeks after Mahatma Gandhi's statue was unveiled in Rusne, Lithuania, on October 2, the Lithuanian ambassador to India, Laimonas Talat-Kelpsa, visited Gujarat recently to further strengthen relations between the two countries. This was Talat-Kelpsa's second visit to the state, "The Times of India" daily reports.

He went to Gandhiji's home (Kaba Gandhi no Delo) and school in Rajkot. He also met industry representatives in Rajkot and Morbi.

"We have a diversified trade relation with India which is growing at 20% every year," said the Lithuanian ambassador. "The bilateral trade between India and Lithuania is 60 million euros." Talat-Kelpsa had come to Gujarat on the invitation of union minister of state for agriculture, Mohanbhai Kundariya . Lithuania mainly mports pharma products, footwear and metals from India and exports laser and medical equipment to India.
