Vice Minister of Economy and Innovation K. Žemaitis has finished a 5-day visit to India
On February 24–28, the Vice Minister of Economy and Innovation of Lithuania Karolis Žemaitis visited Hyderabad and New Delhi, where he met with local pharmaceutical and engineering companies, and government representatives, and participated in high-level economic forums. The delegation was accompanied by Elijus Čivilis, General Manager of "Invest Lithuania", Sigita Šležienė, Head of the International Affairs and Protocol Division, Ministry of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania, Diana Mickevičienė, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to India, Žymantas Mozūraitis, Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to India.
The delegation spent the first three days of its visit to India in the city of Hyderabad, where one of the largest biotechnology conferences in India “BioAsia 2023” was held. The delegation had meetings with
“Bharat Biotech”, “Biological Evans”, “Aragen Life Sciences”, and “Mantena Infra”, during which the Lithuanian life sciences ecosystem was presented, companies were invited to participate at the “Life Sciences Baltics 2023” event in Vilnius, September 20–21. On the sidelines of “BioAsia 2023”, Vice Minister K. Žemaitis met with Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao, Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Planning, Industry, Trade, Information Technology and Communication of the Government of Telangana to discuss business cooperation opportunities between Lithuania and the state of Telangana. Also, the Vice Minister spoke at the closing event of “BioAsia 2023” and participated in the opening of the new honorary consulate of Lithuania in Hyderabad (įdėti hyperlinką iš įrašo apie konsulato atidarymą).
In New Delhi, the delegation met with representatives of “The Serum Institute of India”, “The National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM)”, “PayTM” and discussed the possibilities of business cooperation between Lithuania and India in high technologies. The Vice Minister attended the “India Europe Business and Sustainability Conclave” organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. On the sidelines of the event, the delegation met with the President, Director General, and Deputy Director General of the Confederation of Indian Industry to discuss joint business directions between Lithuania and India, agreed to work on a high-level delegation visit of the Confederation of Indian Industry to Lithuania later this year. At the “India Europe Business and Sustainability Conclave”, Vice Minister K. Žemaitis participated in a panel discussion on changing global value chains.
