Warning: Fraudulent Job Offers
Fraudulent job offers for lucrative employment in Lithuania requesting payment in advance are increasing. The Embassy recommends extreme caution. Before disclosing any information or transferring any amount of money, please carefully consider the credibility of such proposals and the credentials of their authors.
This is to inform you, that Embassy of Lithuania in India is not part in any kind of employment, long term visa or temporary residence permit matters.
- From 1st of July 2023 Lithuanian consular posts abroad do not accept, process or provide information regarding National (D) visas and Temporary Residence Permits (TRP) of the Republic of Lithuania. All long-term visas and TRP are processed and decided by the Migration Department under the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Lithuania.
- The Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in India officials or any other employees do not participate and are in no way related to the issuance of National visas or TRP for students or foreigners who want to work in Lithuania. Information on the issuance of national visas and temporary residence permits is published on the website of the Migration Department https://www.migracija.lt/stay-more-than-3-months.
- Applications for the issuance of a national visa or temporary residence permit are accepted at the office of the external service provider selected by the Migration Department in Delhi: https://services.vfsglobal.com/ind/en/ltr/
- The Embassy of Lithuania in India only processes and makes decisions on Schengen visas, which are intended for short-term stays and are not suitable for employment or permanent studies.
- The Embassy of Lithuania in India contacts and information about the procedure for issuing Schengen visas are published on the Embassy's official website http://in.mfa.lt/in/en/
- Schengen visa applications are accepted ONLY through VFS Global centres https://www.vfsglobal.com/Lithuania/india/ . Registration for submitting a visa application is carried out through the VFS Global website and is free of charge.
- Indian citizens and other third country nationals intending to get a job in Lithuania are advised to make sure that the communication takes place with real employers, as there are known cases when applicants interested in employment opportunities abroad receive fake job offers from fraudsters pretending to be Lithuanian employers or agencies.
